Today, I am in between weeks from recently completing FMT (Functional Movement Techniques) Movability by Rocktape, a course focused on teaching rehab techniques patients can take home to help in their healing and performance. We covered:
Foam Rolling and Lacrosse ball usage for myofascial release and trigger point therapy
Resistance band work to help stabilize and strengthen
Kinesio taping to help with pain and stabilization
Functional movement assessments to help screen the patient
And much more that fell within those. It was a great weekend and hope to incorporate as soon as possible.
The other certification I have coming up is Active Release Techniques ART Spine course. I have been studying at nights and free time during the day and excited to fully learn this concept. One surprise during my studies is that there are multiple protocols for the Jaw, and with so many previous patients having TMJ dysfunctions I really look forward to utilizing this technique to the fullest. It's such a great feeling to learn something new everyday. The one thing that so many doctors do is that they think they know it all and so they stop learning or taking new course because they get stuck in their ways. It can be a humbling experience to be surrounded by other professionals that are also there to learn so needless to say, I'm counting down the days to leaving for Austin, TX.
More updates to come soon on TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Medical level 2
