Conservative Care

Conservative care consists of a variety of non-invasive, non-surgical treatments used to manage and relieve pain. At Burghealth Chiropractic & Wellness, we offer several forms of conservative care, some of which include:

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM): Technique that uses stainless steel instruments and therapeutic exercise to detect and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Active Release Techniques (ART): Soft tissue care that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.

Chiropractic Adjustments: Helps restore joint mobility, nerves, and other soft tissues and provides relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other conditions originating from the spine and extremities.  

Corrective Exercises & Rehabilitation: Helps restore soft tissue mobility and takes pressure off the joints. Certain treatments include PNF stretching, reciprocal inhibition, meditation, and breathing exercises.

Massage Techniques: Helps restore muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Certain treatments include Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapy.

Topical Analgesics

Topical analgesics are pain medications used to treat musculoskeletal pain that are applied directly to the skin rather than being swallowed or injected. Available in a cream, lotion, gel, or patch form, topical analgesics typically include ingredients such as Boswellia, camphor, menthol, arnica, and essential oils.

Biofreeze Professional: Menthol works to stimulate cold receptors that create a cooling sensation on and under your skin, helping to relieve pain. Our medical-grade formula has optimized the ideal menthol concentration for maximum effectiveness. Ingredients include menthol, arnica, and aloe.

Tiger Balm: Available in an ointment, Tiger Balm works to temporarily relieve stiff muscles and minor aches and pains associated with joint and muscle strains, backaches, arthritis, and stiff muscles. Ingredients include menthol and camphor.

Sombra: Helps to relieve chronic pain and achy muscles, soothes stiff joints, and improves circulation. Ingredients include camphor and menthol.

Ancient Nutrition (Ache-Away Essential Oil): Offers soothing pain relief after a workout or hard day’s work. Ingredients include ginger, wintergreen, rosemary, clove, and Boswellia oils.

Natural Supplements

Natural supplements help to reduce pain and inflammation and to restore balance within the body. Common ingredients found in natural supplements include bromelain, CBD/hemp oil, white willow, devil’s claw, Boswellia serrata, Curcuma longa, propolis, green tea, ginger, rosemary, celery, ALA, trans-resveratrol, papain, black pepper, and fish oil.
